The input and output sensors of automobile transmissions mainly belong to speed sensors, which are specifically divided into the following two categories:
1. Input Shaft Speed Sensor (ISS)
Function: Detect the speed of the transmission input shaft (turbine shaft) to control shifting timing and optimize performance.
Installation position: Usually installed on the input shaft of a planetary gear transmission or on the housing near the clutch drum connected to the input shaft.
Working principle: Detect the rotational speed of the input shaft through electromagnetic induction or Hall effect, and transmit the signal to the transmission control unit (TCU).
2. Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS)
Function: Detect the speed of the transmission output shaft, used to calculate the vehicle speed and provide feedback to the control system.
Installation position: Usually installed near the output shaft of the gearbox, close to the parking lock gear or induction rotor.
Working principle: Similar to an input shaft sensor, it detects the rotational speed of the output shaft through electromagnetic induction or Hall effect, and transmits the signal to the TCU.
2、 Material and Structure
The material and structure of sensors vary depending on their type and working principle, mainly divided into the following categories:
1. Electromagnetic sensor
Shell material: metal (such as stainless steel, aluminum alloy), used to protect internal components and ensure durability.
Internal components:
Coil: made of copper wire and used to generate electromagnetic induction.
Magnet: Permanent magnet used to generate a stable magnetic field.
Working principle: When the target axis rotates, the change in magnetic flux generates an AC induced voltage, thereby detecting the rotational speed.
Tip: Our automotive parts are suitable for most models on the market. If you need to place an order, please consult customer service.
